What’s New in the 2026 Subaru Solterra? Full Specs & Key Upgrades

Exciting Updates for the 2026 Subaru Solterra

With more range, a new charging port, and updated styling, there’s a lot of buzz about the new 2026 Subaru Solterra. While the first-generation Solterra was a fantastic EV, the Subaru engineers listened to customers and gave the second-gen Solterra a plethora of subtle changes. The team at Douglass Subaru is excited to show off the new Subaru EV at our store near Hewitt and Gatesville.

Let’s take a look at the new specs, key upgrades, and special offers for the practical and fun-to-drive 2026 Subaru Solterra EV.

A New Charging Port & More EV Range

The biggest changes to the 2026 Solterra involve EV charging, horsepower, and range. Gone is the old CCS port, as Subaru replaced it with the new NACS port. This change opens up the thousands of Tesla Superchargers all over North America. The NACS port is compatible with chargers from companies like Electrify America, EVGo, and Chargepoint. Adding the NACS port makes public charging more convenient.

The 2026 Solterra also received a range bump. For 2026, the new models get between 278 and 288 miles on a full charge, up about 25 percent from the first-gen Solterra. Subaru also added horsepower. The entry-level trim went from 215 to 233, while the new XT model delivers 338 horses, which is more competitive with other EV makes and models.

To accommodate the new NACS charging port, Subaru also increased the max-charging speed to 150kW, making your public charging stops quicker.

Styling Updates & A Brand New Trim

The Subaru Solterra is now available in four trims, including a new XT trim. The entry-level Subaru Solterra EV Premium comes with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, dual-electric motors, 233 horsepower, and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. On the inside, it features heated front seats, interior ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The Solterra EV Limited has the same dual-motor system and horsepower.

The Subaru Solterra EV Limited XT and Touring XT come with the larger dual-motor system with 338 horsepower. The Limited XT features 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, Multi Terrain Monitor, and a Harmon Kardon® premium speaker system with a rear subwoofer. The Touring XT adds a panoramic glass roof with a motorized sunshade, a radiant leg heater in the front seats, optional two-tone paint, and available blue leather upholstery.

Upgraded Interior Technology

Another upgrade for the 2026 Subaru Solterra is the new Subaru Multimedia touchscreen display. All models have a 14-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto, SiriusXM All Access radio, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, SubaruConnect, and hands-free phone connectivity. Cloud-based navigation is available on all models.
